Accessibility

The accessibility policy

The body making the statement "Luxembourg Space Agency" is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the law of 28 May 2019 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies. This accessibility statement applies to: https://space-agency.public.lu

What is digital accessibility?

Everyone should be able to easily use and consult the information on a website or an app, in particular people with disabilities and/or using assistive software or specialised equipment (blind, partially sighted or otherwise disabled people).

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the European Standard EN 301 549 and the Web Accessibility Assessment Framework (RAWeb) version 1 , due to the reasons listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason(s):

Non-compliance

  • Contrast ratios are insufficient for some texts, graphics or focus indicators.
  • Some of the 'title' attributes of links do not exactly reproduce the visible title, but they still allow to understand the destination of the link
  • No alternative text on images carrying information
  • Some visual design elements are not correctly ignored by assistive technologies
  • In the zoomed-in and/or small-screen versions, some elements are truncated or superimposed
  • Empty paragraph tags are used in text contents to define spacing
  • Weaknesses in the structure used in "Lastest news, Future event" section.
  • Poor accessibility of carousels
  • Certain lists are not always identifiable as such by assistive technologies
  • A few HTML code validation errors can disrupt assistive technologies
  • In the main menu, the lists of sub-menus can't be accessed on keyboard navigation. However, these sub-pages can be accessed from the 'Site map' page in the footer or by consulting their parent page (first menu level).
  • In the zoomed-in and/or small-screen versions, the sub-menu lists are not available in the main menu. However, these sub-pages can be accessed from the 'Site map' page in the footer or by consulting their parent page (first menu level).
  • No text transcription and subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing on videos.
  • Poor accessibility of the video component and its dialog modal "YouTube privacy warning"
  • No title and presence of presentational attributes on iframes
  • Some interface components are not compatible with assistive technologies:
    • The button for opening the search form doesn't have the aria-expanded attribute and isn't enable with the space key.
    • In the zoomed-in and/or small-screen versions, the button for opening the navigation menu doesn't have the aria-expanded attribute and isn't enable with the space key. It's also located outside the dialogue window. The button remains accessible with keyboard commands
For this content, it has been checked that the non-conformities affecting it do not block access to the information. Should any content nevertheless prove not to be accessible, we undertake to provide an accessible version on request (please refer to the 'Feedback and contact information' section).
  • Lack of relevance of some page titles in the footer
  • No declaration of global background color
  • Lack of relevance of the search form label
  • Weakness in the structure of the social networks share button
  • Weakness in the structure of the breadcrumb
  • Weakness in the structure of the search filters and search sort order display

Disproportionate burden

  • Not all documents available on the site comply with standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1; the volume of documents to be processed to achieve compliance is very large and requires too many resources. However, we undertake to provide an accessible version of content on request on a case-by-case basis (please refer to the 'Feedback and contact information' section)
  • Some videos published after 23 September 2020 do not have accurate text transcripts. We will endeavour to provide the information conveyed in the video in the surrounding text

Content not within the scope of the law of 28 May 2019

  • Downloadable documents provided by third-party administrations and not under our control.
  • Documents published before 23 September 2018
  • All videos published on the website prior to 23 September 2020.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 4 March 2025. The declarations contained in this statement are accurate and based on an actual evaluation of this website compliance with the requirements defined in RAWeb 1 , such as a self-assessment done by " Government IT Centre (CTIE)".

Control procedure

Websites created under the Renow standardisation reference system are developed within a generic and centralised framework and architecture in accordance with project management processes and the Renow checklist. To guarantee neutrality, we regularly call on accessibility experts to check the compliance of sites or new features.

Each site is evaluated at several stages:

  1. During the design of the content structure.
  2. During the creation of graphic and functional models.
  3. Immediately prior to going live.

Once the site is online, checks are carried out as follows:

  • the editors check access to all new content before it is published.
  • each new functionality of the site is evaluated before it is published.

During evaluations, the site is tested with the most common screen readers, tablets, mobile phones and PCs. They are also tested with different web browsers (compatibility up to 2 versions below the current version).

Contributor competencies

The work procedures include the application of internet guidelines at the various stages of the site's development (writing, management, development).

Our employees have the knowledge and skills required to correctly apply the Internet guidelines.

Feedback and contact information

  • in writing in a document or email;
  • orally in an interview or by phone.

Enforcement procedure

Should the reply be unsatisfactory, you also have the possibility of informing the Information and Press Service, the body responsible for supervising accessibility, via its online complaint form or the Ombudsperson, the mediator of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
