Artec3D

Core business

Artec 3D is a global leader in AI-powered 3D reconstruction, image processing, digital twins, computer vision, and professional 3D scanning technologies. Founded in 2007, the company has over 18 years of experience in developing cutting-edge 3D solutions and operates through subsidiaries across the EMEA, Americas, and APAC regions. Artec's technologies are used across a wide range of industries, including critical infrastructure, energy and utilities, defense, emergency response, forensics, industrial design, architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), healthcare, and cultural heritage preservation.

Products and services

  • Scanners: Target-free Handheld, Desktop, Lidar, Target-based. AI Photogrammetry: Object scanning, AI Arial scanning
  • Artec Jet: Fast coverage in GPS-denied, indoor & confined sites. Walkable, mountable, drone-deployable.
  • Artec Ray II: Survey-grade precision for large fixed assets. Industrial, infrastructure, heritage.
  • Artec AI Photogrammetry: 3D from video at scale — flexible, visual, accurate. No specialist hardware.
  •  Artec Leo, Spider 2: Component-level inspection at 0.05–0.1 mm. Targetless, hand-held, fast.
  • Artec Studio: A powerful all-in-one professional 3D scanning &photogrammetry software fro 3D modeling, reverse engineering, inspection and more.
  • Artec Twins: A spatial intelligence platform for large-scale digital twin creation. It enables metrically validated 3D reconstruction of urban environments, transport infrastructure, and industrial assets — integrating data from UAV capture, mobile SLAM LiDAR, and terrestrial scanning into a single coherent spatial model.

Technical means

  • Capturing scale: from microns to space scale:
  • Multi-scale reality capture: From micron-level 3D scanning to terrestrial laser scanning (TLS), drone-based photogrammetry, and AI-powered NeRF reconstruction.
  • Large-scale capture: Mobile SLAM LiDAR (Artec Jet) enables rapid acquisition of extensive environments while maintaining reliable absolute scale.
  • Multi-source data fusion: Integration of UAV imagery, mobile SLAM LiDAR, and terrestrial laser scanning (Artec Ray) into a single metrically consistent 3D model.
  • Georeferenced reconstruction: Support for national airborne LiDAR datasets as an external geometric reference, enabling accurate georeferencing, reconstruction stabilization, and validation without manual ground control points.
  • Hybrid AI reconstruction: Combines classical photogrammetry with Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) and Gaussian Splatting to deliver robust 3D reconstruction in low-texture, reflective, and geometrically complex environments.
  • Metrology-grade accuracy: High-precision measurement and inspection across the full reality capture workflow.

Main customers

Artec serves Fortune 500 companies as well as organizations across the automotive, engineering, education, defense and security, oil and gas, energy, manufacturing, metrology, and forensic sectors.

Major space projects

3D-SKY, AI-Based Hybrid 3D Reconstruction from UAV and EO Imagery. The 3D-SKY project proposes the development of a hybrid AI-based 3D reconstruction technology designed to overcome the limitations of classical photogrammetry and to scale sequentially from UAV rooftop video to aerial and Earth Observation (EO) imagery.

The project addresses quality limitations of classical photogrammetry through a hybrid reconstruction approach combining: AI-based neural reconstruction; classical photogrammetry augmented with geometric and semantic priors; pose refinement and self-calibration mechanisms; Gaussian Splatting as a computational scene representation; and multi-source data fusion (MSDF) using SLAM LiDAR and terrestrial laser scanning (TLS).
