Luxembourg and Italy Extend Space Cooperation Agreement at IAC 2026

Antalya, 9 October 2026 – At the International Astronautical Congress (IAC), the Luxembourg Space Agency’s Interim CEO, Ruy Pinto, and Ambassador Mario Cospito, Special Commissioner of the Italian Space Agency (ASI), signed a five-year extension of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) first signed in October 2021.

The agreement builds on the cooperation already in place between Luxembourg and Italy, which provides a framework for LSA and ASI to share expertise and exchange information. It also aims to strengthen collaboration by identifying projects of common interest, for example, in civil space exploration, the sustainable use of space resources, and science, technology, and their applications. The MoU also facilitates collaboration between the two countries' academic and research institutes, as well as private space companies.

The Luxembourg Space Agency is more than thrilled to continue this fruitful collaboration for years to come!
