Leadership Transition at the Luxembourg Space Agency: Marc Serres Departs, Ruy Pinto Appointed as Interim CEO

The Luxembourg Space Agency is entering a new phase of growth with the appointment of Ruy Pinto to the position of interim CEO, following the departure of Marc Serres.

After two decades of driving the national space effort, Marc Serres, the long-time CEO of the Luxembourg Space Agency, is taking the natural next step in his journey—bringing his experience from the public sector and his passion for space into the private space ecosystem he helped build

To guide the agency into its next phase, Ruy Pinto officially took office as interim CEO on Monday, September 14, 2026. Drawing on decades of strategic space sector leadership both in Luxembourg and globally, Ruy brings an invaluable vision to steer LSA's priorities, building on a strong foundation to propel Luxembourg’s space ecosystem forward.

"For several decades, Luxembourg has stood out as a leading player in the field of space innovation. The Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA) has played an essential role in this success, actively contributing to the development and structuring of the national space sector. I am honoured and grateful to have the opportunity to participate in this momentum by leading the LSA into a new phase of growth, as a benchmark organisation for space activities. As interim CEO of the Agency, I look forward to working closely with the LSA teams and the Ministry of the Economy to continue the development of the Luxembourg space ecosystem, whose dynamism and ambition are today recognised internationally," emphasises Ruy Pinto, interim CEO of the LSA.
