Mission

LSA's mission 

LSA's mission is to develop Luxembourg's space sector by connecting space companies with businesses from other industries, help new startups get started and established companies grow, assist the emergence of human resources at a national level and the appeal of space and its potential, especially among young people, help to create jobs and boost the contribution of the space sector to Luxembourg’s economy and lastly, representing and promote Luxembourg's space sector internationally.

The Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA) plays a central role in advancing the nation’s dynamic commercial space sector, supporting companies, innovators, and researchers as they turn ambitious space ideas into real-world impact. By fostering new and existing businesses, developing essential skills, guiding access to research and financing, and inspiring the next generation, LSA strengthens Luxembourg’s position as a global space leader. It drives landmark initiatives such as SpaceResources.lu, implements national space strategy, manages international partnerships, represents Luxembourg within European and UN space programmes, and serves as the key coordination point for all stakeholders shaping the country’s space future.

Among its core activities, the agency:

  • Implements the national space economic development strategy and policy;
  • Drives and leads the SpaceResources.lu initiative;
  • Manages international relations in space industry-related matters;
  • Represents Luxembourg within the European Space Agency and space-related programmes of the European Union;
  • Contributes to and supports United Nations activities relating to space matters, especially with regard to the SpaceResources.lu initiative;
  • Manages national space research and development programmes;
  • Acts as a focal point for public and private stakeholders in all matters relating to development of the space sector.
